Reviews
Upon entering this location the smell of good ol smoked ribs just smacks yah right in the face. Haven't had Dickeyes in years and decided to give it a shot. I got the rib plate which consisted of 6 bones, 2 sides, and a dinner roll, a drink is NOT included in the meal. The ribs were ok along with the fresh out of the oil fries! However, the ribs were about room temperature and were not hot at all which wasn't the norm at other locations so I was a little disappointed about that. I didn't want to make a fuss about it.
To continue, from a customer's view.... behind the counter is 😳😳😳, ill let yall figure that part out. But it was a turn off and it actually did make me question whether or not if I actually wanted to eat my meal and what was the DPH score. I hope you guys have a moment and really go over some things behind the counter, especially the ceiling and floor. Sometimes it takes reviews like this to make a business take action.
I wish this location the best and hope you guys thrive in business but unfortunately I will not be back. Take care.......
Response to the owner, everything I've mentioned in the initial review is the problem. The cleanliness is a complete turn off. The food served needs to be higher than room temp, things like that. I hope you guys take these things into consideration.
I love to find restaurants that try to go outside the norm. There is a good mix of traditional here as well as creativity.
My initial impression was based on the dismal lighting when I walked in I thought they were closed. I thought I made a mistake coming here. The staff wasn't as welcoming as I thought they should be.
I had to assert myself to get a recommendation. The gentleman behind the counter recommended the brisket. What an amazing choice it was. Flavor out the Ying yang and so moist! No sauce was needed for the meat.
I also had baked beans and green beans. Both had a special twist in flavor. The green beans were very peppery and set me off a bit at first. Then I realized I had eaten them all and I wanted more. The baked beans were slightly firmer than I'm used to. Spices were kicking and abundant. I loved both.
This place had an awkward start but I'll recommend and revisit this location.
Food is good! Place is dimly lite and areas are nasty. Dining area wasn't clean when we last went. Tables sticky. Drink and condiment station was nasty. Drinks were out of carbonation and tea has a soured taste.
Would be nicer if cleaned up and dinning area refreshed
Listen, if you haven’t been to this spot wake up because you have been sleeping on them..
I visited this place for the first time today. The guys that took my order were very polite. I ordered the rib plate with 2 sides. The ribs were falling off the bone tender, original sauce was delicious, the bbq beans were delicious! I will definitely be back. Get you some!
I don't know what they gave me but it wasn't sliced brisket. I waited past my pickup time after scheduling an order early that morning for pickup that evening and was only given one of my plates I ordered. Then when I called back to let them know, they said they would make it so I could come back. I ended up going in after it was supposed to be a curbside order and they were looking through thrash trying to find the receipt when I could have just showed them the email.
Instead of making my order, they were trying to figure out what it was when I told him several times exactly what I ordered. Then when I asked for a refund instead of them making my missing food, he gave me back the change from ringing something else up because a 2 meat plate is more than the $16 and some change he gave me but I was just tired of explaining to two people who just didn't get it. Now I'm mad because I tipped on a Togo order with horrible service and I'm out <$30 on some food I couldn't even eat.
I don't know if this is pork or what but I didn't eat it because this isn't sliced brisket. The piece over to the right is what I picked up to look at but this is what I saw the first time I opened it up. They weren't even busy. I came here after a recommendation and drove 40 mins from Dallas but I won't be back. Ever.
First time eating at a Dickey's BBQ. Nice staff, cozy "hole in the wall" feel. Had the two meat plate with Polish kielbasa and pulled pork. For sides ordered mac and cheese and a Caesar salad with sweet tea to drink. Everything was delicious. They have original, sweet and spicy BBQ sauces. I really enjoyed the spicy and the sweet. Will definitely be back.
Food was fresh, tasty, and hot. The service was friendly and personable. The restaurantitself however needs an update desperately. The lighting is very low, and the flooring is well outdated. The black paint makes the restaurantfeel much smaller than it is and the menu needs to be updated and simplified. The store overall was clean, but there were a few spots that needed some deep cleaning and repairs. If you want great BBQ and friendly service, then this is the place for you. You'll need to overlook some of the less appealing features of this store though.
The food is good but I'll get it to-go in the future - the dining area is dark, the music playing is depressing, there are supplies stacked against the walls and on the tables, and the employees (who are responsive and do provide good service) don't seem happy either. It's just a very sad atmosphere. So yeah, good food and service but unless you enjoy depression, get it to-go.
